SFA Galaxy Quest
Can you discover your own galaxy? Try to find deep sky objects on these STScI Digitized Sky Survey images. When you have centered your deep sky object in all three images, then please submit your observations. If the object appears in the Generation 1 and Generation 2 images then you can be sure that your object is not an image defect or an asteroid. The red and yellow dots correspond to cataloged objects. Objects will be classified as new or already cataloged later with SIMBAD, GSC, USNO-A2.0, USNO-A1.0, SkyView, or TDA Catalog Searches. This is a student project that began at the SFA Observatory. Anyone can contribute to the building of this galaxy database. Contact Dan Bruton for more information. |
